Veg Patty Moonglet, a.k.a. Stuffed Moong Dal Chilla is a scrumptious North Indian food with full of fiber & high protein.

Moonglet is a perfect dish to prepare in breakfast. Making this tempting recipe is an easy task and can be made with simple ingredients such as moong dal and a melange of spices. Feeding the dish to kids is also considered to be good, as moong dal is a great source of protein and fibre.
Veg Patty Moonglet is gluten free and serves as a great replacement of burgers.
Tips
- To adapt the recipe to a vegan / plant-based diet, use only vegetables or use tofu for the topping. You can either skip the cheese or use vegan cheese.
- To adapt the recipe to a Jain diet, skip the ginger in the batter. You can replace it with asafoetida or hing.

Ingredients
- Moong Dal 1 cup
- Ginger 1 inch
- Green Chili 1-2 portion
- Salt to taste
- Tomato sliced 1 tbsp
- Bell pepper (capsicum) sliced 2 tbsp
- Sweet peppers sliced 2 tbsp
- Carrots grated 2 tbsp
- Corn boiled 2 tbsp
- Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
- Dry mango (amchur) powder 1 tsp
- Chaat masala 1 tsp
- Eno or baking soda 1 tsp
- Butter 1 tbsp
Instructions
- Moong Dal Batter
- Clean and seive the moong dal with water.
- Soak 1 cup moong dal for 4 hours.
- Blend the moong dal along with 1/2 inch ginger, chilli and salt to taste.
- Stuffing
- Use pan and add 1 tsp olive oil.
- Add vegetables
- Grated ginger 1 tbsp
- Diced tomato 1/2 cup
- Grated carrots half cup.
- Grated beetroot 1/4 cup.
- Green bell pepper 1/2 cup.
- Green peas 1/2 cup.
- Corn 1/2 cup.
- Paneer cubes 1/2 cup.
- Boiled potato 1/2 cup/
- Add spices
- Salt to taste.
- Coriander powder 1 tsp
- Dry mango powder 1 tsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp or to taste
- Garam Masala 1 tsp
- Black pepper 1 tsp.
- Mash the vegetables and mix the spices.
- Cook for 10 mins, veg patty ingredients is ready.
- Veg Patty Moonglet
- Add 1 tsp olive oil on a flat surface pan.
- Add 1 ladle moong dal batter to pan.
- Take smalll portion of vegetable ingredients and form a patty.
- Place the veg patty in middle and cover it with moong dal batter from all sides.
- Cook it from both sides, Veg Patty Moonglet is ready.
- Cut the veg patty moonglet and transfer to a serving plate.
